APR Basketball Club have bolstered their roster with two new significant signings as Chasson Randle and Youssoupha Ndoye both joined the Rwanda Basketball League holder ahead of their BAL season five campaign.

Randle is an American combo guard with a wealth of experience at the highest levels of basketball. The 32-year-old had stints with NBA teams, including Philadelphia 76ers in 2017, Golden Stae Warriors in 2020, and Orlando Magic in 2021, and he also spent a season with Real Madrid.

He previously played for lowa Wolves and Stockton Kings, propelling the latter to their first NBA G-League championship this month.

Randle also represented the US at the FIBA Americas U-16 World Championship and FIBA World U-17 Championship in 2009 and 2010, respectively.

"I first learnt about APR through coach James. He presented to me an opportunity to come here and play, and I started doing my own research on the club, the country, and Kigali, and I found nothing but great things," said Randle.

He added: "For the fans, you can expect me to bring a lot of energy, bring my skills to the court, and my willingness to compete and win day in day out."

Ndoye is a Senegalese centre (6ft 11) known for his dominance in the paint and leadership on the court.

Ndoye, 33, who is a keystone in the Senegalese national team, is expected brings a wealth of global experience to APR as he had played in some notable leagues, including NBA G-League, Taiwan Professional Basketball League, Chinese Basketball League, among others.

He previously played for Daegu KOGAS Pegasus in the Korean Basketball League.

"This is something that I always wanted to do since the BAL started, because I am a City Academy alumni and the then president is Amadou Fall, who is also the president of BAL right now. So, that's something i wanted to do just for him because every year he kept telling me that he wanted me to come and play here (in BAL) and for me it was first of all a way to give him back all the stuff that he has been doing for us since our young age," Ndoye said.

APR will be aiming to turn things around at the BAL stages as they were shockingly eliminated in the group stages last year.

They are placed in the Nile Conference, which will be held in Kigali from 17 to 25 May, along with Libya's Al Ahli Tripoli, Nairobi City Thunder of Kenya, and South Africa's Made By Ball Basketball (MBB).
