Patriots Basketball Club have reinforced their roster ahead of the 2026 Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) playoffs as they completed the signing of Rwandan-American guard Noel Obadiah.

Obadiah joins the Kigali-based side with valuable international experience and is expected to strengthen the team's backcourt as Patriots aim to challenge for the league title.

The combo guard will provide additional scoring, perimeter shooting and defensive quality during the playoffs.

The 27-year-old is no stranger to Rwandan basketball, having had two stints with APR.

His experience with a Rwandan team came during the 2024 BAL, where he helped carry the team until an injury forced him out, and APR were shockingly eliminated before reaching the playoffs.

In 2025, Obadiah Noel delivered a clutch moment by hitting a game-winning three-point shot with three seconds remaining as APR edged Nairobi City Thunder 77-74 to secure a place in the BAL playoffs.

Having acquired Rwandan citizenship, Noel is eligible to play as a local player, giving Patriots added depth without occupying a foreign player slot.

Patriots have been one of Rwanda's most competitive basketball clubs over the years, but they have gone six years without winning the league title.
